We are looking to appoint Registered Nurses with post registration nursing experience – current A&E nursing experience would be desirable but is not essential. You will participate in the treatment of patients in A&E and Same Day Emergency Care Unit (SDEC) which will be a split site area from the main accident and emergency department, where we will strive to give patients an excellent standard of care in an extremely busy environment that is both challenging and rewarding. You will learn many new skills and enable patients to have the best possible standard of care.
You will have good communication skills and be willing to undertake extended role developments and mentor preparation. In your application you should demonstrate evidence of self-directed learning for development of clinical skills. There is a commitment to do rotational night duty.
Two of these posts are on a fixed term basis. The first post is for a fixed term of 12 months. The reason for the fixed term contract is maternity leave cover. The second post is for a fixed term until 30/09/2022. The reason for the fixed-term contract is A&E is currently undergoing a test of change pilot for same day emergency care as part of the remobilisation of A&E services to improve patient flow and patient care experience. As a key member of the nursing team, you will be focussed and determined in order to maintain a high level of service. If you wish to apply for either of these posts as a secondment opportunity, you will need to discuss with your line manager before submitting an application.
