Interview
Your interview panel will comprise of senior members of staff from your preferred area and a representative from Human Resources (HR). Lasting between 30 to 45 minutes, you will be asked competency-based questions which aim to allow you to demonstrate your skills and abilities. Once successful you will be invited to sit a drug calculation test, that usually takes place the following day.
Drug calculation test
This is a 30-minute exam where you will have a set number of questions to answer.
Clinical scenario – Virtual Reality
UCH is currently the only NHS Trust using simulated standardised assessment in London. This Virtual Reality (VR) employs cutting edge technology for our clinical scenarios. You will be assessed through a virtual reality toolkit on an unseen scenario, designed to test your nursing competencies. This normally lasts 45 minutes.
After these two assessments, should you be successful, you will be offered a post at UCLH.
The recruitment team will issue you a conditional offer letter that outlines all the pre-employment checks that need to be completed prior to you starting with the Trust. We aim to complete these checks within two weeks, and you will then be issued your unconditional offer from recruitment. With this, you can arrange a start date on your ward.
