An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the NHS Shetland Macmillan Nursing Team. The post holder will contribute to the delivery of all aspects of care for patients with Cancer from diagnosis to palliative and end of life care.

The post holder may also be required to support other professional colleagues in giving advice for patients with long term conditions who require complex symptom management at end of life. It would be desirable but not essential to hold a current Post Graduate Chemotherapy Course and other advanced nursing skills courses such as Non – Medical Prescribing and the Clinical Assessment for Advanced Practitioners.

This post will require the post holder to undertake extensive training and courses if qualifications are not held, so the successful applicant must be willing to evidence this commitment through recent personal development. Post 2 is for a fixed term until 31st May 2022. The reason for the fixed term contract is secondment cover. If you wish to apply for this post as a secondment opportunity, you will need to discuss with your line manager before submitting an application.
